Our History
Malachi 3:16-18 “…So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels.“
In the year 1981, the Lord God through His Holy Spirit began to minister to the heart of His servant Emmanuel Victor Adjei-Wiredu, affectionately known as Bro. Victor, then the field director of the World Crusades, about the moral decadence that had gripped many in the world and engulfed His Church. After many months of groaning in prayer for the Lord Jesus Christ to move by His Spirit to eliminate this canker from His Body, the Lord directed brother Victor to ponder on His Word to the Church by the Apostle Paul in the book of Romans, Chapter 13:11-14. The Lord then placed a burden on his heart to gather together brethren who will believe in the nearness of His Second Coming and with an urgent desire to live wholly for Him until He comes.
Brother Victor founded a Bible Study Fellowship with his wife and children, as well as the children of Madam Marian Edusei, in her living room at No.8 West Loop at Tesano Estates in Accra on February 24th 1982, with the sole purpose of spreading the gospel of Christ’s imminent second coming. Many people believed in the gospel and became members of this fellowship.
The fellowship was officially named HOUR OF DELIVERANCE MINISTRY (HODEM) and was duly registered with the Government of Ghana on April 17, 1985. The mandate for establishing the HODEM Fellowship was to proclaim the news of Christ’s Second Coming with the fervour it required.
After much success and gathering congregations in over 50 localities, the Lord began ministering to His servant to constitute these fellowships into a Church and start planting more churches to disciple more converts who will dedicate their entire lives to honour Him 1Corinthians 10:31. These converts were admonished to live in the reverent fear of God.
To qualify to be set apart as the Jewels of God, just as He promised in the book of Malachi Chapter 3: verses 16-18. The church on February 2013, adopted the name “JEWELS OF GOD MINISTRY.”
